Specialising in conditioning, rehabilitation and sport-specific training, it’s fair to say Jamie Sawyer has many feathers to his cap. Involved in a sporting capacity for most of his childhood and adult life, Jamie has managed to work with some of the biggest names in sport through his many capacities.
To begin with, Jamie studied a degree in Sports Science at Greenwich University. He then followed up his completed degree with a diploma in Fitness Training and Sports Therapy. Whilst at university, Jamie excelled as an international class athlete – competing to a high standard at the discus, hammer and javelin events.
Upon leaving university, Jamie worked in his own clinic as a Sports Therapist. Then, in 2001, following a successful stint in the clinic honing his craft, Jamie was employed by London’s leading health and fitness gym The Third Space as their Specialist Trainer. Jamie’s role at The Third Space required him to not only train athletes, but also rehabilitate your everyman, as well as including a responsibility for the development of education amongst The Third Space staff.
Ever the keen student, whilst at The Third Space Jamie undertook a further diploma in Machine-based Pilates. He subsequently became The Third Space’s Head of Pilates.
Jamie’s work in conditioning and rehabilitation has enabled him to work with some of the sporting world’s premier stars. Beneficiaries of Jamie’s work include Formula One driver Jenson Button, athlete Duane Ladejo and Ultra-Marathon Man Findley Young.
Jamie has also provided conditioning and rehabilitation to those perhaps in need of the most conditioning and rehabilitating – professional boxers. Jamie has worked with a number of boxing champions and top prospects over the years, including European champion David Haye, Anthony Small, Gary Logan, Patrick J. Maxwell, Robert Lloyd-Taylor, Stephen Smith and top female fighter Cathy Brown.
Jamie can regularly be seen in the corner of numerous boxers upon fight night. Possessing a sharp, academic mind and an in-depth knowledge of his subject matter, Jamie is the man most sportsmen want on their side.
